Top 5 games

#1 - The Curse of Monkey Island

Overall Rating:

Not just my favorite Point and Click game ever since I was a child, but one of my favorite games of all time!
The game first came out in 1997 but with it’s cartoony graphics it still holds up to this day. It still looks great, and the games humour is still as funny as ever.

It had a rerelease in 2018 on Steam and other major platforms sitting at overwhelmingly positive reviews and with a bargain price.
The Curse of Monkey Island is one of the few games I can, and will, pick up every now and then to play through even after beating it many times and still have the same joy.

#2 - Grim Fandango

Overall Rating:

Once again LucasArt takes the spot on the top list. Grim Fandango is a lovely Point and Click game.
A game deserving of being on the list because it hits the spot in every way.

The story is intriguing. The characters are intersting and funny. The dialogue is funny. The graphics have a nice aestethic. The soundtrack is fantastic.
The puzzles are, for the most of the time, pleasant with minimal pixel hunting, all in all being a great experience and a truly great game!

#3 - Heavy Rain

Overall Rating:

Heavy Rain. Maybe not a typical game to see on any top-list, especially Point-and-Click ones. But the theme of the game, the ambience and the story truly hits home for me. I have played through the game on all endings, done every achievement and enjoyed it all the way through.
This interactive ‘movie-game’ has a good crime mystery to uncover, it has interesting characters, interesting plot-twists and great replayability.

To top it off I am a big fan of rainy weather, so the almost constant ambience of rain within the game really adds the cherry on top for me.
All in all Heavy Rain is a great game, worth buying, and worth playing through every ending!

#4 - Life is Strange

Overall Rating:

Twin Peaks-esque mystery, great soundtrack and an interesting story – Life is Strange is the hit-wonder of DONTNOD after their last critical failure Remember Me. And boy what a comeback. Life is Strange is one of those games you become emotional invested in. It has a great cast of characters, it looks great and the soundtrack is great. Ever since I played it the first time it has stuck inside my head.

With its Overwhelmingly Positive review on Steam it seems I am not alone in this thought. The game has a lovely mixture of pop culture and science references interwoven with the protagonists love for photography this time travelling masterpiece really hits home for me. A game well worth visiting and revisiting!

#5 - The Stanley Parable

Overall Rating:

You have a choice, and you have no choice. There is an ending, and there is no ending. The Stanley Parable is a hilarous walking sim about an office worker stuck in an empty office. Exploring it with his Narrator we come to understand that nothing is what it seems.

The Stanley Parable is a unique and hilarious experience. It will not fail to make you laugh, and it’s meta content is spot on. With it’s 16 endings it has plenty of replayability. Who would ever have thought walking around an office building could be this fun and this interesting? If you have not experienced the game you owe yourself this exceptional experience!
